Rush River Park offers birding and wildlife opportunities because of it’s “off the beaten track” location.
Rush River Park is maintained by The Friends of Rush River. The Friends of Rush River is a group, of private citizens, that maintains the park. This nonprofit group relies on donations for the up keep of the park. (Suggested donations are $10.00 for overnight camping and $3.00 for day use.) A donation box is located in the park.
The Friends of Rush River also hosts an annual fundraiser to offset the maintenance costs. The annual dance is held the first weekend in March at the Wild Edge Event Center in Henderson, MN from 8:30 pm to 12:30 pm. The 2010 dance will be March 6th. Featured Band will be Doug Traxler and The Hired Hands. Tickets are $7.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. Contact the Friends of Rush River for more information regarding this event.

Paper Camping permits are no longer required by Sibley County. However, you MUST call the Sibley County Sheriff's Office at 507-237-4330 to obtain permission for overnight camping.
