The County Assessor is appointed by the Sibley County Commissioners for a four-year period. The Assessor's office is responsible for the assessment of all real, personal and exempt property in Sibley County. Minnesota State Statute 273.11 reads: "All property shall be valued at its market value."

NEW FOR 2012, VALUATION NOTICES AND TAX STATEMENTS WILL BE MAILED TOGETHER.
Taxes Payable in 2012: Your tax that is payable in 2012 is based on values that were set as of January 2, 2011. Please note that we are required to use sales that were from October 1, 2009 to September 31, 2010 to determine that value. If you disagreed with the value that was for 2012 payable, you would have needed to attend the Local Board of Appeal or Open Book Meeting held in April 2011.
