Sibley County's goal is to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from discrimination. The County Administrator determine housing needs of the community and then work with the surrounding towns and townships, state, and federal resources to help meet those needs. Housing Revenue Bonds: is a bond that is issued to finance multi-family housing projects or single-family home mortgages secured by the payment of the underlying mortgage loans.
Single-family mortgage revenue bonds: Bonds issued to finance mortgage loans on single-family homes. These mortgage loans generally target first-time homeowners meeting certain income and purchase price requirements
Multi-family housing revenue bonds: Bonds issued to finance construction or rehabilitation of multi-family housing projects where a specified proportion of the units will be rented to moderate and low-income families.

South Central Minnesota Multi-County HRA:
HCV Rental Assistance Program (Section 8): This program will help pay your rent if you are an income eligible family or individual.
HCV Homeownership: This program assist first-time homeowners with their monthly homeownership expenses.
Family Self-Sufficiency: This is a work-incentive program for clients receiving rental assistance through the HCV Program.
Rental Assistance Program: This is a state funded, referral only, rental subsidy program.
