Geographical Information System
Sibley County is currently working towards the development of a GIS System. We currently have a GIS Committee consisting of employees from several departments including: Public Works, Recorder, Environmental Services, Assessor, Auditor, Treasurer, Information Systems, Soil & Water and 2 County Commissioners.
Our part-time GIS Technician, Kate Meixell, has started developing our GIS system. Please contact her at 507-237-4351 or KatherineM@co.sibley.mn.us with any questions pertaining to the GIS system.
All of the Sibley County Section Corners have been located, dug and monumented based on the official Sibley County Coordinate System on the NAD83-1996 adjustment. Please contact the GIS Technician at 507-237-4351 or Sibley County Surveyor, Avery Grochow at 507-237-5212 with any questions pertaining to the Coordinate System Data.
Digital Aerial Photography with 1 foot pixel resolution was flown in the Spring of 2011 and will be available to the public in the future.
Parcel mapping linework for all 17 Townships is currently in the process of being completed. However, this will not identify your official property lines. If you are interested in finding out where your property lines are, please contact a Licensed Land Surveyor to have them located. See the "Zoning Ordinance" for information on survey/coordinate requirements.
