The License Center has the ability to register, transfer, and renew registration of your watercraft.

New Registration - If you are registering for the first time, we will need the following information: year, make, model, serial/hull identification, hull material, length, and type of propulsion.

Transfer Ownership - To transfer a watercraft into your name, please bring the registration card/number along with proof of purchase (bill of sale) from the previous owner/seller. If the watercraft is titled, we will need the title which should be signed by the seller.

Registration Renewal - Watercraft registration is valid for three years and expires on December 31st. The DNR typically mails renewal notices a couple of weeks prior to expiration. Please bring this card to the License Center. If you do not receive the notification, the registration number will be sufficient as long as the watercraft is in your name.
