Economic Support/ Financial Assistance
The Sibley County Human Services Financial Assistance Unit provides financial support to elderly, disabled and low-income residents of Sibley County. It determines eligibility for public assistance programs such as General Assistance, Minnesota Family Investment Program, Diversionary Work Program, Family Stabilization Services, Minnesota Supplemental Aid and Group Residential Housing.
Eligibility for the program(s) is based on the household’s income and assets. The amount of monthly benefits is based on income and the number of people in the household.
You may request information for help by mail, phone or in person. If you want more information on any programs offered or if you wish to apply for any of the above programs, you may contact the Agency for an application or to download an application click below. You must mail or bring the application form in to Sibley County Human Services. Upon receipt of the application, an interview will be scheduled and you will be required to come to the Agency for an interview (if a hardship exists, you may request a home visit for the interview). The initial month’s benefits are based on the date the first page of the application is received by the Agency.
