David E. Schauer, Sibley County Attorney
Duties:  I am the elected county attorney.  I supervise two attorneys and two support staff.  Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Welfare fraud prosecution, ¼ of the felony and gross misdemeanor adult criminal matters, and sensitive criminal matters;
  2. Paternity establishment and child support matters;
  3. Civil and administrative matters; and
  4. Commitments, and human service guardianships and conservatorships.


Donald E. Lannoye, Assistant Sibley County Attorney
Duties:  I am an appointed assistant county attorney.  Primary responsibilities include:

  1. ¾ of the felony and gross misdemeanor adult criminal matters;
  2. Peace officer training; and
  3. Other matters as assigned by the county attorney.

oxann Beranek, Assistant Sibley County Attorney
Duties:  I am an appointed assistant county attorney.  Primary responsibilities include:

  1. All misdemeanor adult criminal matters;
  2. All juvenile matters (delinquency, children in need of protection or services matters, and other matters);
  3. Other public health and human services matters; and
  4. Other matters as assigned by the county attorney.


McKenzie A. Borth, Victim Witness Coordinator/Office Manager
Duties:  I am the victim witness coordinator and office manager.  Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Providing notice and assistance to victims of crime (keeping them informed of court proceedings, explaining the process, and assisting with filing restitution claims);
  2. Providing notice to officers and witnesses for criminal and civil matters;
  3. Calendaring, serving as receptionist, transcribing dictation, and performing other tasks as necessary to operate the office; and
  4. Other tasks as assigned by the county attorney.

usi K. Hillesheim, Legal Assistant
Duties:  I am a legal assistant to the attorneys in the office.  Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Transcribing dictation, filing and records retention, answering phones, and performing other tasks as necessary to operate the office;
  2. Provide back up to victim witness coordinator;
  3. Preparing and handling outgoing mail;
  4. Managing office supplies and materials;
  5. Preparing county claims; and
  6. Other tasks as assigned by the county attorney.
