Sibley County benefits are awarded based upon employment status:

Seasonal/Temporary (resource/on-call) employees are not eligible to receive benefits.

Part Time employees (budgeted to work 1040 hours a year) receive pro-rated vacation, sick leave and holiday pay.

Full Time employees/PT employees 30+ participate in the following benefit programs:

Holidays (unless designation otherwise by collective bargaining agreement)
*New Year's Day (January 1)
*Martin Luther King Day (3rd Monday in January)
*President's Day (3rd Monday in February)
*Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
*Independence Day (July 4th)
*Labor Day (1st Monday in September)
*Veteran's Day (November 11)
*Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November)
*Friday following Thanksgiving Day
*Christmas Eve afternoon (only when December 24 falls on a M, Tu, W, or Th - offices close at 12:00 p.m.)
*Christmas Day (December 25)

Vacation (unless designated otherwise by collective bargaining agreement)
*Vacation time is awarded on a progressive accrual program and increases based upon completed years of service with the county.  Vacation accrual begins at an earning of eights hours per month through year five of service.

Sick Leave (unless designated otherwise by collective bargaining agreement)
*Sick leave time is accrued at eight hours per month.

Probationary Period (unless designated otherwise by collective bargaining agreement)
*Employees serve a six-month probationary period.
