Genealogy Research

The Sibley County Recorder’s Office is open to Genealogy researchers Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Most records are open to the public. Our Birth records start in 1869, Death records start in 1870 and Marriage records start in 1863. The records in the Sibley County Recorder’s Office pertain only to Sibley County Residents.

   We do not offer over the phone research for Vital Statistics.
   If you are unable to research the records in person, you may mail a request for research to:

Please include name, dates and type of record you are requesting.

Requests for research are done in the order they are received.

Fees for research are:
$20.00 per hour
Fees must be paid before research is started.
