Sibley County's Clear Lake Park is long and narrow. The name was derived from the lake that the entire west side of the park adjoins, Clear Lake. The parks topography is flat to gently rolling with a stand of Virgin Oak in the north end. The Minnesota Historical Society has determined a prehistoric archaeological site exists in this northern wooded area.
Clear Lake consists of approximately 526 acres; 289 acres are in Sibley County. The lake has no development along its shores except for a few farm sites and the Gibbon Sportsmen Park. It has been classified by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as a natural environment lake. A small dam at the lake's outlet controls the water level.
Access to the park is from the east. It is most easily reached by traveling south from Gibbon on CSAH 2 for 3.5 miles, then turning on CSAH 8 for about a mile when the park entrance signs will be evident.
